3rd Grade

The 3^rd grade class is currently participating in a project called “We Care,” which was started by my niece in Shawnee, OK. The goal of this project is to create baskets of items that a veteran in the hospital may need during their stay and deliver those baskets to the V.A. hospital during the Christmas season.  We will be collecting items such as: pajama pants, socks, robes, slippers, toiletries, playing cards, dominoes, puzzle books, ink pens, sugar free gum, blankets, chapstick, ect.  These items will be collected until mid-November.  If you are able to donate an item for our basket we would greatly appreciate it.  My students will be making cards for the basket and we will post pictures on the schools Facebook when the project is complete.  There is a Facebook page called “WE CARE” that will give you more information on the project.  Please feel free to message me with any questions at jnickell@calvin.k12.ok.us .  Thank you for your support! 

Note to parents: Please make sure that you check your child's D.O.G folder nightly.  You should expect to see homework on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.  Students are expected to read at least 15-20 minutes each night.  There are two places for you to sign in their folder showing that they have read.  Thank you for all that you do at home to help your child be successful.
